The Kinks. One of the most enduring groups to come out of the 60's was The Kinks. Brothers, Ray and Dave Davis played at the
Seaburn hall on September 16th 1967 The Kinks played to a audience of only 100 people. Seaburn hall was an unpopular place for venues, there were no facilities for public events. People preferred workingmen's clubs so they could dance and have a drink. The Kinks left a huge legacy behind them with a number of hits including Waterloo Sunset, You Really Got Me & Lola. The Kinks first came to prominence in 1964 with their third single, "You Really Got Me", written by Ray Davies. It became an international hit, topping the charts in the United Kingdom and reaching the Top 10 in the United States.
