The Moody Blues. First formed in 1964. Their first hit was called Go Now but it was their change of musical style, that blended rock with classical music that led to a fine mixture. An example of their music is Nights In White Satin.
The band comprised of Justin Haywood, John Lodge, Ray Thomas, and Graham Edge. The Group played in Sunderland's Wetherells night spot in 1967 before they hit stardom. The Moody Blues Single "Go Now" which really launched their career, being promoted on TV with one of the first purpose made promotional films in the pop era, produced and directed by Alex Wharton. The single became a hit in the United Kingdom where it remains their only Number 1 single. Other hits included, Forever Autumn, Question, and Driftwood.
