George Irving actor born 6th May 1954in South Shields, Tyne and Wear,
where his dad worked in the coal industry. He now lives in East London with his
wife TV/Theatre Director Jan Sargent . He met Jan, while they were at rep
together in Newcastle where she directed him and they had a prickly relationship
until they realized they had fallen in love. They have a daughter, Lucy, 21 and
still lives at home.
His father was a surface worker at the local pit in South Shields, County Durham
but his mother Nell sadly died of leukaemia just as George was on the brink of
fame. He has three younger sisters in the North East who he says are irritated
at having a famous brother. George nearly never became an actor. He had planned
to go to college and study either human biology or zoology, but while working in
a supermarket, waiting to go to college, he was offered the chance to join a
drama group. He has been in several programs including, Holby City, Eastenders,
Dangerfield, Coronation Street, The Bill, Inspector Morse, Casualty, Boon,
Bergerac, Juliet Bravo, The Professionals and The Sweeney.
Rowan Sebastian Atkinson the youngest of three boys, was born January 6,
1955 in Stocksfield, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. His father, a farmer, owned a plot of
land in the area, but brought Rowan up in a residential area. Like a lot of of
English performers (at least in comedy it seems) Rowan's original aspirations
lay outside the realm of entertainment. He attended Newcastle then Oxford
University on an Electrical engineering degree. Married to Sunetra Sastry since
1990 Has two children, Lily and Benjamin.
Imogen Stubbs was born on 20th February 1961 in Rothbury,
Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She briefly lived in Portsmouth, where her father was a
naval officer, then they moved to London and lived in an elderly river barge on
the Thames. She was educated at St Paul's and then at Westminster, where she was
one of only a few girls in the Sixth Form. From there she went to Oxford and
gained a First Class Degree.
Her film career started in 1982 when she appeared as Imogen in the film
Privileged, followed by Nanou in 1986. A Summer Story and Deadline in 1988, Erik
the Viking in 1989, and as Ginny Whittaker in Relatively Speaking in 1990. She
narrated The Wanderer in 1991 and in the same year played Diana Stiles in True
Colours. In 1994 she appeared in A Pin for the Butterfly, and in 1995 she played
Sarah in Jack and Sarah. In 1995 she played Lucy Steele alongside Emma Thompson
and Greg Wise in Sense and Sensibility. This was followed in 1996 by Twelfth
Night playing Viola.
Kevin Whately Born 6th February 1951 is married to Madeleine Newton, they have
two Children Kitty and Kieran. Kevin was brought up in Hexham, Northumberland
and had ambitions to become a doctor when he was a teenager. However the fact
that he was not very good at chemistry and the prospect of many years of
studying made him turn away from medicine and pursue an acting career. He is
best known for his roles in Auf Wiedersehen Pet and Inspector Morse.
