We would have to balance the likes of wind power with the environment etc.
But, did you know with shale gas we have supplies that will last decades?

Obviously, the economy is more important than having a nice planet to live on.Crawford wrote: ↑18 Sep 2022, 11:09This is what the debate is about because if it was viable we would have done a quick transformation within a couple of years.
The technology is there to have CLEANER energy but at what cost?
Nuclear energy is extremely clean and we are keeping away from that for a reason.
Wind power works but at what cost?
I agree that we should go for it but I think it's easier said than done.

I'd rather we tried something cleaner and environmentally friendly.

It wouldn't hurt to have a wind generator near each house.Steve30000 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2022, 06:55 https://www.mysunderland.co.uk/article/ ... using-deal/Yep. Heat pumps instead of gas as well, electric charging points for cars

Or maybe reduce the number of objects that consume energy? Reduce the number of useless products produced, for example. Maybe moderate our appetites? For 10,000 years we lived without expensive cars, and now all of a sudden we can't?Crawford wrote: ↑18 Sep 2022, 11:09This is what the debate is about because if it was viable we would have done a quick transformation within a couple of years.

There are a lot of completely useless products in modern society which are produced by factories which pollute the environment.
Have you seen the movie La belle verte? I liked it.

Re: Tolent lands vaux housing deal
It does but what cost to the environment and us? If you think about it, we should go all out for alternatives to fossil fuels. I know it will be hard but we have to do it. Before I would brush it all off but the more I think about it, the more we should act. I am not going to suggest alternatives because I am not an expert
