Why is the pedestrian path at the back of st Mary's carpark fenced off?

Why is the pedestrian path at the back of st Mary's carpark fenced off?

Post by Steve30000 »

Why is this? Now, you have to walk all the way around the car park, you can't walk through and down the steps leading over the bridge... Who's idea was this?

Absolutely ridiculous, as far as I'm aware, this was a public footpath and not privately owned, so why block the entrance?

What's the point of a footpath at the back of city hall then, if you're just having to walk all the way around st Mary's carpark to get across the bridge?

What a stupid idea.

British footpaths can't be taken away from us.
I don't know the one you mean but it sounds temporary.

That looks like a permanent fence. The car park seems to have claimed that bit of land for themselves

As you drive in, you can see it straight away, don't know who's bright idea that was.

There will be a stopping-up order somewhere telling you why they have closed it.

The car park is owned by the council, so they've just taken it upon themselves to close a public path off. 🙄
