Stoney Lane traffic lights.

Post by cam »

The Stoney Lane traffic lights are back on and working after weeks of being off.
When they were not working, it helped the flow of traffic perfectly.
Now, the long wait has come back.
They are really not needed because of the reduced traffic due to the Northern Spire.
If they are deemed necessary, there seems to be no sensors so when there is no opposing traffic, you still wait, wait and bloody wait.

There are loads of places which don't need traffic lights. Especially after 8 pm.

There are so-called part-time traffic lights at the Stadium of Light but I've never seen them work ever, not that they are needed.

These lights at the north end of the Queen Alexander Bridge are not necessary sometimes.
I don't think they are clever with no pressure pads or whatever they use to determine approaching traffic.
They must be on a timer, but luckily they have got many other lights set up properly around the city.

I know, it wouldn't be so bad if they had sensors that could detect traffic and allow you through immediately if the road is clear.
